This resource is produced for the Patient Everything and Patient Summary bundles, where it represents imaging and other non-laboratory diagnostic results. Laboratory results are published as standalone Observation resources instead. It is not produced for Bulk Medication History.

Stable ID

The id is derived from the patient, the report date, the report text, the panel code, the diagnostic type, the result value, the unit, and the reference range (low, high, and text).

Fields

issued, conclusion, presentedForm, encounter, and imagingStudy are not populated. The narrative report text is published as the valueString of a contained Observation rather than as conclusion or presentedForm.
Reports with no diagnostic type are excluded from both bundles, since the type is what determines category.

Categories

category is resolved from the source diagnostic type to a LOINC diagnostic service section code: If a diagnostic type cannot be matched to one of these categories, the report is still published but category is omitted.
